Dana,

After overcoming several problems, I built a very simple 3 element yagi more or less tuned for channel 2. It seems to work. The F/B ratio measured 17 dB, enough to get rid of the PG&E noise coming from exactly the opposite direction from KFTY. I'm sure it has little gain but at least signals peak pointing at the station.

Here's an image of 45.1 with my Sony Diagnostic Screen turned on. SNR is running 18-19 dB. That's a bit weak for low VHF but there seems to be minimal glitches.

******

Chuck, that is very cool stuff. My guess was distance was biggest issue, but indeed it grazes another peak in Costal range. Glad to here your quicjk setup worked.

How do you learn so much about this? Are you in the biz or a hobbyist?

Looks interesting and the web site has a lot. I'll look forward to it coming on the air. Could be an alternative to the MSM.

So far KFTY has held in here pretty good but it's only been less than day. It usually takes a month or more to see how a station does under various weather conditions.

Yes Chuck, it terms of alternative. Thanks. There is a great deal of news censorship out there. Admiral Moorer who was head of entire US military in 1970s and veteran of Pearl Harbor told me in our first meeting that coverups happen and that Pearl Harbor was one of them. He found out when commander of Pacific Fleet 20 years later that we had broken the Japanese code, knew they were coming and when, kept Kimmel in the dark about it then court martialed him as part of the coverup. There is a story up there with video about how Whitehouse press briefing are rehearsed and staged, that Jay Carney evens admits that in private. If you search under jay carney on site you will see two stories that cover that, with video and a Leslie Nielsen scene for grins.

Although taken with humor about the most dangerous things is to not think governments are capable of conspiracies, that is what determined whether people like Albert Einstein who were Jewish lived. by escaping Hitler because he believed in conspiracies, or the millions of Jews who trusted the government and thought the conspiracy theories about the National Socialists were too conspiratorial to believe, and died terrible deaths in the concentration camps. In fact some people that have trouble believing conspiracies can happen, to this day, deny the death camps ever happened.

All a conspiracy means is two on more people planing to do something illegal. Our prisons are filled with people convicted of conspiracy, that is the crime they are officially charged with.

Wish you the best and sorry if I got too serious.

Hi Larry,

On 3.4 AUN-TV it is infos now, as we debug and find range etc., But will transition into 24 hour news oriented. Documentaries, live talk TV, etc., 7pm news hour etc. It stands for American Uncensored News Network, we will cover things other news stations are afraid of. There is a website up now, AUN-TV with the normal web stuff before and after the AUN-TV.

KTVJ may be in month or two, Keith is driving that.

So you did not get RF3 KCRA, but a 35 RF repeater? By any wild chance can you see KKPM 28 from Buttes? It does make Vacaville.

Thank you again, Dana

OK on AUN-TV's plans. I'll keep an eye on 3.4 to watch what's happening.

I'll also be watching for KTVJ to appear later on. Do you have any idea what virtual channel they'll be using since they can't use 4? (Keith, if you're reading this, you might comment on that.)

KCRA 3 transmits on channel 35, so is not RF3 like K03HY is. It and KGO's translator compete with each other here in San Francisco.

There's no way I could receive KKPM 28 here. There's a low power station, KFTL, transmitting on channel 28 from Mt. San Bruno, just five miles south of here. There's also a station on channel 28 up in the Santa Rosa, a repeater for KDTV.

Could you give me a sub-channel break down of what programming is on KKPM, KFTY and KUKR so that I can include it in my Digital Channels list? I'd appreciate it.

Redding and Chico stations are past the 100 mile limit for the list, so they won't be included.

Larry you are right on Keith having best idea on virtual, it may not even be decided yet. For south bay folks it is possible we will have another one, so two towers for south bay is in the cards. And 28 on SB forgot about. Keith is a busy fellow.

No. I had nothing to do with the phone division. I worked at the Government Systems Division in Mountain View, the place with the big white inflated "bubble" on the corner of 237 and Central Expressway if you're familiar with that area 25 years ago.

Hi Dana...

Like Stephen said, the table you copied is my list. I need the sub-channel information for KKPM, KFTY and KUKR. I don't have accurate programming information for those three channels.

OK on the virtual channel for KTVJ. Maybe Keith will see this and fill us in. If not, we'll wait for the station to come on the air.

You have to match Lat/Lon for the end points you have to the cursor position on the map when you enlarge it. It would be nice to enter two points but it doesn't work that way.

That's what I was afraid of. I can zoom in and actually put the first X on the exact right spot of my roof, but as small as the map is, it's really hard to find the transmitter locations for Meadow Lakes and the rest of Fresno/Salinas Broadcast Towers.

Aren't all these One Ministries stations running the same programming? I thought they were all translators.

I'll bet KTVJ will be hard to receive at only 300 watts and almost no one with a low VHF antenna.
