I am getting a bit sick of dealings with projectors...

I've gone from a Infocus X1, and then to a 4805 and loved both of them. Since the bulb went out on the 4805, I have had an Optoma HD65 and a Mit 1600 and returned both of them for different reasons. Both not up to par.

My thinking is now going towards a MIT 73" RP and giving up on front projectors. I need your comments please as to what to do!

Thanks.

Hey ace,

I can't comment on the Sanyo, but I've been using an Optoma HD70, though due to lighting I could only use it at night. I was stuck using a 42" Sony HD RP CRT set during the day, a great set for sure, but literally 2/3 of the screen would be black bars when watching BD content. I recently replaced the Sony with the 73" Mits, and I'm loving it. I was thinking about selling the Optoma, but I've decided not too. The 73" is big, but it's not the "theater experience" that I get with the projector. That said, if I could only have one or the other, I would keep the Mits.

I have a Vista HTPC connected to both (DVI>HDMI), and it works fine with the Mits. There is a considerable amount of overscan, but you can resize with the Nvidia or ATI software to compensate.

Edit: I just noticed your posts in the FP forum, specifically the one about RBE with the HC1600. Please see my post below regarding my RBE experience with the 73". Several others have stated in that thread that they seem to be more sensitive to RBE with the 73" than with other sets.
