Hi All,

Anyone have any experience with a Sanyo XP21 on a 16:9 screen? Obviously PS DVD 480P and HD 1080i will be shown in 16:9, but how about 480i images? Is there a mode that will fit a 4:3 image inside the 16:9 image? Will there be bars on the side or will it stretch it or user selectable? Sanyo's site mentions a 16:9 mode but little or no additional information. Thanks,

I believe the 16:9 mode it refers to is just the anamorphic squeeze on enahnced material (ie. better display of a 16:9 image, not what you are asking about, which is framing of the 4:3)

I will try to look at it tonight though for you to find out more.

If you have set-up the 21N in the widescreen mode and are projecting on a physical 16:9 format screen you cannot then present a boxed in 4:3 image on that screen without an external scaler like the qscan or Iscan pro. The 21n has a mode that will squish the 4:3 image to fit. It attempts some trickery to keep the center of the image frame undistorted while stretching the edges.
