Sanyo PLC-XF12N

Any comments about this projector? I've seen the XP21N mentioned as a good choice. I need a longer throw lens than the XP21N has which would add at least $1,500 to the cost. I see that the XF12N has 1,000 more lumens (can you have too many?), a 1,500 hour lamp and a long throw that suits my purposes. This makes the prices close to comparable. Noise isn't a factor because the projector will be behind a wall.

Thanks,

Chuck Davis

In another post it was related by a projector pro that the only Sanyos that have the very high contrast are the XP-21 and PLV-60.

The XP30 also has 700:1 contrast ratio.

Thanks

All of the projectors mentioned have a "P" in their designation. This seems to say that they're in the "portable" category. They all appear to have relatively short throw lenses (1-1.3) and 1.3 inch LCD panels. The XF12N is in a classification of "large venue" which has a longer throw lens (2-2.6) and 1.8 inch panels. They also have bigger lamps, and are heavier and louder. The XF12N in specified at 600:1 contrast ratio.

Has anyone seen this projector perform? And, all other things being equal, is there a disadvantage to so many lumens?

Trying one more time.
