Folks after much frustration over quoted figures on projectors I sent a mail to Eiki who resell the PLV-60 as the LC-VC1. Interesting info came back, it would appear that Sanyo are not telling the full story, see below.

Sanyo Fisher publishes their information based on the factory's INITIAL specifications. We publish our information based on the factory's FINAL specifications.

Subject: RE: Information Request Form

Importance: High

Hi,

I am now close to purchasing the LC-VC1 from B&H. I would just like to know why the Eiki is spec'd with lower ANSI Lumens and contrast when compared with the Sanyo PLV-60. 1200 Vs 1300 and 500:1 Vs 700:1 respectively. I am told they are the same projector so I would think the specs should be the same?

Please let me know as soon as you can, as I need to make a decision between the two units.

Also is you know where I can locate any reviews on the product would be great.

Best Regards,

Mark.

The lower ANSI rating had to do when the PLV-60 was made to meet some FCC requirement. The PLV-60 is 1200 lumens.
