Unfortunately, the place for this projector is in the "other" other forum... i.e. the > $20K forum. It's intended as a commercial, large venue projectore with a commensurate price tag, not as a consumer HT product. Dual SDI inputs, 80+ lbs, dimensions 23 x 10 x 31 inches... nope, not in the consumer lineup.

I wonder how much a consumer unit would cost. Considering 720p units run pretty cheap I can't imagine the 1080p panels costing a huge amount more.

I tried to talk Sanyo into a PLV-80 or whatever with 1920 x 1080 panels and the same lumens as the 70. The guys were not overwhelmed by the brilliance of the idea, but, hey...


The HD-10 is only about $80,000!

I've asked this before, but I'm not sure if people didn't know or just missed my question. Does anyone know if Sanyo is coming out with a successor to the PLV-70 (Perhaps using the same panels that will be in the Sony HS-20)?
