I own my Z1 for about 6 months and recently observe that there is a shift in the registration of the RGB vertical lines. By playing a test chart, I notice that blue lines are slightly off the red and green lines especially at extremes of the image. The situation gets worse slightly when the projector is turned on for some time.


Could any experts here advise how I can fix it? Is it possible to make some changes in the service mode to fix this?


Even though I have used my Z1 for just over 100 hours, there is still the strange plastic smell coming out from my projector. Can I do anything to reduce it?


Any advices are welcome, thanks in advance.

I skipped reading your message because I thought your "registration" problem was an issue with Sanyo customer support!


Try reposting the message with a more accurate subject line, like "colors don't line up on my Sanyo Z1!".


I think what you are seeing is an RGB panel alignment issue. I don't have an LCD projector (yet), so this is only a guess. My understanding is that all LCD projectors have this problem, some worse than others.

simonsy, you seem to be refering to panel misalignment. LCD projectors usually have *some* amount of misalignment such that if you project a single white pixel, you'll see some color on its boundaries.


How bad is your misalignment? I had a case of 2 pixel-width misalignment with ony of my panels and Sanyo service took care of it.

The misalignment is more serious at the lower part of the image, and is quite obvious with the subtitle. Bue colour is coming out the right side may be 1 to 2 pixels width. I will examine it in more details before contact the local agent for service.


Did they replace the projector for you and simply did some adjustments to correct it?


Anyone have experience to minimize the strange smell coming out from the exhaust vent of my Z1, please advise.

They replaced the LCD panel for me.
