Sanyo Z1 using HTPC questions.

Hey everyone longtime lurker and first time post. I have been reading here for quite sometime after I decided to switch from my MITS 65 RPTV to a FP plv-z1. I have been playing around with this projector for about a month using my Panny rp-56 in progressive. This weekend I hooked my amd 1700 xp using vga to vga. I am using a live 5.1 and a Geforce 2 /GTS for sound and video. I used power strip to get 960 x 540 in predefined resolutions at 60mhz. I noticed that the HTPC is better in all aspects to my progressive Panny. Especialy black level and I gues sharpness. The panny looks so soft or out of focus now after looking at same scene with two dvd's and switching back and forth on Z1 from VGA to component in. I have decided after trying numerous things like different cables and different DVD players that is something to do with the component in on the Z1 or the scaler that causes this.

Myquestion is this? In simple terms how much will I gain in going to a ATI 7500 over my geforce2 GTS. The GTS seems to handle the native resolution of the projector; however I get some studder when I click open the control interface on windvd 4. When I hide the interface movies appears to play smoother with only occasional studder. I get no studder with hardware accel turned off in windvd4 so I assume that the video card is at it's limit of smotth playback.

Also in full screen windvd4 I needed to adjust some of the menu itmes to position the movie to complete cover the desktop and use full screen. The Z1 shows MODE 1 instead of wide thru. It stills says 960 / 540 in display area, and want to be sure it is still wide thru and not rescaling in the projector.
