Well, I installed the Sat-c kit (on the 18V side of the multiswitch), turned on my mits hd5 and couldn't get a guide. I checked the signal strength and had only sat-a signal. When I disconnected the sat-c, and hooked up the sat b, I had a and b again.

Is it possible that the long cable that I probably mangled threading through the arm is the problem? I thought so at first but then re-considered when I couldn't get any of the sat-b channels either.

Thanks for any insight,

Mike

Some guys reported having to reboot the unit to get the Sat C lnb recognized. Did you try that?

I had it unplugged after the install. Once I'd plugged it in (and it hung on the guide acquisition) I performed a soft reboot but that didn't do much good. Since I'm also missing the sat-b channels, I'm suspecting a h/w issue but I'll try a hard reboot this evening.

At least one DIY'er reported having bent the cheesy signal lead inside the Sat C 9" jumper wire when connecting it to the combiner. You might want to be sure that when your connections are correct that you also did not bend this center conductor wire when tightening the coax to the combiner...

Help:

I have a spare dual input LNB. Exactly what else do I need in order to attach the 110 LNB to my existing multiswitch??

Anyone, please!!!

Well Ron you need to buy the Sat C lnb kit. It will include the combiner and cables that you need. Oh, and it includes a proper Sat C lnb because your spare dual will not work for 110. You can still keep it as a spare though, but only for 101 or 119.

If you lose the Sat-B channels (transponders 22-32) and Sat C (transponders 8,10,12) after installing the kit, then you definitely have a short in the 31.5" cable between the combiner and Sat-C(or b/w the combiner and Sat B, but that cable should be the same good one you were using). This happened to me. Check each end of that cable to see if one "hair" from the braided sheilding is touching the center conductor. Or just try another cable you know is good.

That's the conclusion I was coming to. I'd tried some of the other suggestions to no effect. I'll try a new cables

Thanks,
