sb live spdif?

I was wondering if anyone is using a original soundblaster live! (not 5.1 just the original live one) and able to hear anything out of the spdif out from the digital i/o card? I'm having a heck of a time trying to hear anything from it, all of the settings I'm supposed to use seem to not exist in the drivers that I can use, I'm using windows 2000 and my original disks don't work with windows 2k, so I can only use the drivers off the web, which seem to have forgotten about the digital i/o card for original live card as far as I can tell
