SC-57 UE-22 error...offering me VSX-LX504 or 503 at discount?

My Pioneer Elite SC-57 is throwing a UE22 error and Onkyo says they can't fix anymore but will offer me a discount on either the VSX-LX504 ) or VSX-LX503 .

I printed out the model comparisons and will review over the weekend...wondering if anyone here has any thoughts?

Jim I could not get the Pioneer comparison tool to work so just looking at them, it looks like the lx504 has imax enhanced and advanced mcacc. Those are the only changes I can see unless the lx504 also got the new Onkyo hdmi board. If so, I would say get the new lx504.
The 504 is a nice receiver, as it's what I've got. The main problem I have with it is global crossover settings (can't set by speaker). Other than that, it's a fine unit with preamp outs, which is important as I run a 7.1.4 setup, and need preamp outs to run my outboard power amp (it does processing for 7.1.4, but can only do 5.1.4 with built-in amplification channels).

Thanks for the input. I received the unit a few days ago and set it up...however, i was disappointed to find out that when i decided to do 5.1 bi-amp as i did with my SC-57, this unit then does NOT allow me to use the zone 2. There was no mention of this in the manual that i could find when i did my research, it just greys out the option when selected during setup. this is a big problem for me...any ideas welcome.

Respectfully disagree, I wasn't offering anything for sale, but do whatcha gotta do...

Obviously you didn't read the sticky...it clearly states that the owner's of AVS do not want members to post street pricing on gear (MSRP only)...outsisde of the deals stickies or deals forum...

it has nothing to do with you offering anything for sale.

I edited out the street pricing you had in your post vs giving you a written warning and delete your thread.

Not to be too snarky, but don't bi-amp the speakers... There's very few that truly need it.

If you have to use all 4 terminals on the speakers, simply hook up both sets of wire to the same channel on the receiver, or just use a short set of jumper wires from one set of inputs to the other on the speaker. If your speakers actually need to be bi-amped (what speakers?), then you can forgo zone 2, or get a small stereo amp and then bi-amp that way by using pre-out to hook up to stereo amp. Not ideal, but it's likely not necessary to bi-amp anyway.

I guess I'm a bit surprised it won't allow zone2 or zone3 if you're bi-amping with only a 5.1 setup... I mean the receiver has 9 amplified channels after all.
