starcraft 2. Got the file but no beta key.

I don't mind playing an rts game where I have a unit that levels up and can be equipped with items etc.. Other than that not so much into rts..

FYI - the beta runs until May 30th with keys being given out with pre-orders at EB Games/Gamestop. The game is expected to release in June. Also note, like all Blizzard titles, you can play on either PC or Mac.

Welcome to my world. It appears those that have been playing the beta for the last 6 weeks have the tech tree down pat. My longest game has been about 20 minutes before getting decimated. On average I bet it's closer to 10 min before I go to meet my maker.
Alas the beta is multiplayer only.... single player is only going to be available when the game is released. Regardless, I'm still willing to put my 'mad skilz' out there for others to laugh at. See you online....

Register an account with Battle.Net if you don't already have one. Then add the beta key as a new game to your Battle.Net account. You'll then get the option to download a downloader for either Mac or PC (or both if you want). You then use that downloader to connect directly to Blizzard's servers and download the game, which after that you install, create a character and start getting your butt kicked.

I just got my beta key. Any forum members want to get together for some beginner-level action? Only a little over a week left to play before round 1 of the beta closes.
Dale, is your username still valid? It seems with the new battle.net, you enter a "close friend" using a person's email address, and a "casual friend" using a char_name.identifier. Check your profile within the battle.net interface to see your full name.
Anyone want to add me, my info is "Avatar.megaton" (without quotes of course).
