I have my xbox360 hooked up to my panny 42px50u for about 3 weeks now and no problems at all. I wouldn't recommend playing the same game for a couple of hours straight, but if you use moderation you should be fine. turn down the contrast and brightness also.
Clanger said it best. Don't play the same game for more than three hours or so and you'll be fine. I played PGR 3 online last night for about 5 hours and noticed when I turned the set off (I have a Toshiba plasma) there was a VERY faint outline of a graphic, I let a DVD play for a couple hours and it went away. This was also on a screen that wasn't receiving any information (xbox was off, tv was on), when the xbox was on and the screen was displaying something you could not notice anything at all. This is called image retention (not burn in, burn in you would see when something is being displayed) and is completely reversible.

Hook it up and have some fun.
disagree - play the game more then 3 hours if you want. I got the xbox last week, i have a 50px500u, played Call of duty for 6 hours straight the first night. Turned it off, not even a little image retention. Played another 6 hours straight a few nights later (i was away for a few days, tv was off), still no burn in, no image retention, NOTHING. I have yet to see anybody complain of even image retention in a new model panny plasma, i say play as much as you want. Somebody posted a link to a test a website did a few months back where they left halo paused for 48 hours straight - there was image retention - they then watched regular tv for 24 hours, it was completely gone. If 48 hours straight on pause isnt going to burn in, nothing will.

Well there you go... my set is only 5 weeks old and might have something to do with it, I will wait a few months and see what it is like then.

In all honesty though, burn in does not worry me whatsoever.

Well, there you go. My set is still new so this may have something to do with it. In all honesty burn in does not concern me whatsoever.
I have Pioneer plasma and have played PS2 3+ hours straight with only very faint image retention. 15 min on Discovery HD and it's good as new. I think the Burn-in issue has been solved in newer generation plasmas from all major manufacturers.
