The advice you got on sync is right - per Video Demystified, the RGB signals in SCART carry no sync. The composite video signal carries the sync for RGB. So you need to separate the sync and video of the composite signal (I believe National Semiconductor makes the LM1881 to do this) and then sum the sync only back into G. This is obviously not a trivial undertaking if you have to design a circuit from scratch. Since SCART is common in Europe, maybe somebody there makes a box to do this. I'm not that familiar with the 10K. Does it have separate sync inputs or only sync on G?
