SciAtl Explorer Remotes

Hi, I can't seem to find any information on this subject and I was wondering if someone might be able to help.

I have two Scientific Atlanta cable boxes on one tv - an Explorer 3250HD (high definition) and an Explorer 8000 (DVR, non-high def).

The problem is that they both use the same remote codes and so I can't operate them independantly. I push channel up, and they both channel up.

My only concern is that if I am using the HD box, I may inadvertantly be controlling the DVR box and modifying my recordings.

I used to own a Tivo, and it had an option where you could assign a remote number to a remote and to a particular box. Remote 1 would go to tivo 1, remote 2 to tivo 2, etc... Do the Explorer boxes have such a feature? Perhaps undocumented?

Thanks,

Matt

"Do the Explorer boxes have such a feature?"

Nope. If you are that worried, just manually hit the power button on one. From then on, hitting the power button will alternate between the 2.

the 8000 can be off and will still record, so that shouldn't be a problem.
