Is there a "screen material for dummies" sticky somewhere?

I have an older Epson 5020UB that I am putting up in my newly constructed room. Dedicated basement without windows. No ambient light concerns.

Any guidance on material for the screen? Grey? White? What gain....or a point in a direction that will help make an educated decision?

Fixed frame screen BTW.

Thanks.

That should be pretty useful. You should be good with a white screen since you are in a very light controlled setting. I just upgraded to Stewart Cima Neve and I am very happy with it! If you have the budget for it I highly recommend it. I was using a Jamestown matte white screen before the upgrade. It was a good screen for the money but the Neve definitely has a brighter image and is more detailed in my opinion. It was not a night and day difference by any means but enough so that I found it to be a worthwhile investment.
