Hi,

I'm trying to decide between a Sharp PG-A10x (XGA) or a NEC VT47 (SVGA). It's going to be used only for DVD viewing. Both of these projectors are about the same price, within $100, but the VT47 is a year newer. DLP is NOT an option!!!

What I'm concerned about is the screen door effect. I want to minimize it as much as possible. Is screen door helped by higher resolution, or is the resolution irrelevant? If resolution matters, I'll go with the XGA. If picture quality is comparable, I'll go with the SVGA.

Thanks!

Exactly - If you are sitting 1.5-2.0x screen width away I would go XGA. For 2.0x screen width or farther you could get away with SVGA - I have a Benq 6100 (SVGA) and at 2x screen screendoor completely disappears (And I have 20:10 vision).
