Has anyone had a chance to compare the relative quality of the various screen vendors' electric/mechanical assemblies?


I am looking into a tensioned electric screen. Choosing the screen material is hard enough. I was hope people would have some insight into the quality of the vendor's mechanical assemblies. My situation calls for a ceiling mounted screen.


Does anyone have a good/bad experience with the sound of the screen raising or dropping? Knowing that a vendor had an super quiet drive would help me decide. Then again, knowing that a vendor had a noisy drive would also help me NOT choose them.


Any opinions out there? Are they all the same, basically?

They are basically all the same. some may be slightly louder than others but not enough to worry about.


the real difference that i've noticed is how they mount to studs and stuff. Generally all the drop down stuff is roughly equal.
