Hello everybody,

I'm new here, it's my first post on this forum. (As I'm french talk, I'm more active in French Forum).

I've just bought a Barco Data 800 coupled with quadscan in 720P. Room Size is 5meter * 8 meter.

I don't know what size screen I can use with such a crt. I'm hesitating between 106' diag with 1.0 gain or 120' on 1.6 gain screen (Projecta screen pro).

I prefer bigger screen as I have enough space but I'm affraid that light output isn't great enough with BD800.

All the best for everybody on this forum.

Hello Raphael,

I'd keep the screen as small as you can stand, then sit closer. Driving a 6 year old + projector hard can be frustrating and expensive. I'm planning to project a 100" diagonal 4:3 image with my BG800 when fixed.

I was filling a 120" 16:9 matte white curved screen. The image was bright enough in my light-controlled, dark gray 'cave'. However, reasonable grayscale tracking required settings that caused something to fail, THREE TIMES. I might have a lemon, but I'd definitely think twice before subjecting your Barco to undo stress.

Good luck,

Jeff
