Ok I have the Epson Powerlite Home Cinema 750HD (3000 lumens) projector on a Elite Screens manual pull screen (1.1 gain).

Here is the projector specs: http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/jsp/Product.do?sku=V11H499020

I have the screen size around 100" and I use it for gaming, watching tv, and movies. The projector is operated at all times of the day so light control is not very good unless its at night with the lights off. During the day there is alot of ambient light through windows and it does take away from the picture but its still very watchable. My question is should I get a different screen with a different material and gain? Will it help the day viewing any more or is what I have good as it can be? If so what do you recommend?

Anyone? Reason I ask is because I get a grid look to my picture. It's not bad but it's noticeable I've seen it called the screen door effect. Am I getting this because of the screen or is it my projector?

It is most likely the screen door effect from your Epson LCD projector. Changing screens won't change that.

Agreed. The OP may want to check the sharpness settings though as I find artificially sharpening the image can make it worse. If you want to get rid of this issue you really need to look into a 1080p projector.
