Does it matter what is behind a screen used with a front projector? I have mine sitting in front of bookshelves that were part of a built in wall unit. The install was convenient, but I'm wondering if this is a quality issue. Once in a while, it looks like there is some dirt on the screen, but I check it an it is clean. Very minor, but I'm wondering.

Hmmmm,

What colour is your bookshelf and what kind of screen do you have? Many screen let some light through and you may be able to see the reflection off your bookshelf if it is a light colour. You could call you screen manufacturer and get them to replace your screen surface with one that has a black backing, this is usually an option for people mounting their screens in front of a window. You could try looking behind your screen while the projector is on and try different tests like putting a mirror behind the screen or a dark piece of material and see if it shows up on the front side.

My bookshelf is a light brown color. I think I am getting a few reflections. I am going to try putting up a black piece of material behind the screen. Thanks
