Screen material for ceiling mounted LCD

229 Views 1 Reply 2 Participants Last post by  Vic C
I'm in the market for a 92" wide 16 X 9 screen to use with my ceiling mounted LCD projector. Light output is 500 ANSI lumens, so I'd like some gain from the screen. Does anybody have any suggestions as to which screen/material to use? I've seen a lot of comments about the Da-lite Hi-Power & Video Spectra, Draper 2500, and Stewart Videomatte 200, but haven't landed on anything yet. I'd like something that can be cleaned, as I have kids that can't keep there hands off anything. Thanks for the help.

SSJ2,

Go check the above thread on home made screens and material. I have a SONY CRT and I am using a homemade screen from a home depot canvas drobcloth with a killer mate whit finished side. Look, I dont want to put down LCD projectors because I almost got one my self but got lucky on my CRT. I beleive that CRT projectors are more critical on what you use as a screen, whereas an LCD can amlost be used with any thing. With the drop cloth I am describing in that thread my SONY rocks. I have never seen a better surface for a projection screen then this material. I beleive it is better than most factory built screens.

Check out the info in the above thread on screen material.
