High lumen LCD means gray screen (Grayhawk is best but pricey, Dalite High Contrast is nice too but not as good as Grayhawk, check Screen forum for DIY gray paint on white blackout cloth) for better blacks and contrast.
I’m using LCD projector (VIDIKRON EPOCH-D2200) with 1300 ANSI lumens ( in single mode lamp ) and 120†screen. My projector is ceiling mounted.
Currently I’m using Da-lite Glass Beaded screen, but after I surf in Da-lite and Draper site, they said that GlassBeaded screen not suitable for ceiling mounted projector.
Also Glass Beaded have 2.5 gain, causing “hot spotâ€.
I want to change my screen, but I need some advise from videophile like you guys.
Should I change with special screen material for LCD projector, like Hi-Contrast Da-Mat from Da-lite or Grayhawk from Stewart? Or with another screen material? What screen gain works best with my projector?
