I just built a wood framed parkland screen for my new PLV-Z1 and the screen came out 1 inch too long in width (67x37). Will this make a difference in filling the screen properly? Should I take it apart and cut it down 1 inch? I will be watching widescreen dvd and some 4:3. The projector is ceiling mounted 8.3 feet from screen, if thats a factor.

Most of your widescreen dvds will be either 1.85:1 or 2.35:1. Your "mistake" screen is 1.81:1, which is actually better than a true 16:9 (1.77:1) screen for these most common widescreen movie formats. And 4:3 will require side masking regardless. There is actually very little true 16:9 material out there (with the exception of HDTV, but you didn't mention that.)

Don't cut it down... It will be fine. You probably won't have to mask 1.85:1 material at all, and only need 4-1/4" top/bottom masks for 2.35:1...
