Hi all,

I am leaning heavily towards getting a Sanyo XW15 LCD projector with a brightness of 800 lumens and a contrast ratio of 300:1.

I'm looking for suggestions on a good screen to use with this kind of projector. I'm looking at getting a 80x60 4:3 screen and masking it off to 16:9. (Or would it be better to simply get a 16:9 screen? The projector uses 4:3 panels and not 16:9, though).

Oh yeah, and I'd like it to be one of the more affordable options. To give you an idea, when I was leaning more towards the NEC LT150 (DLP), I was probably going to go with the DaLite HiPower 80x60, which is in the 250-300$ range.

From what I've read, a "gray" screen will improve contrast and diminish the screen-door effect, but at the cost of brightness. Is the 800 lumens bright enough for a gray screen or should I go with a screen with gain instead (at the cost of contrast)?

This will be in a basement which I intend to keep dark, with most movie viewing done at night in any event.

Thank you!
