I've posted under the digital proj section, and Alan suggested also getting feedback from some of u already using the Ruby. So here goes with a lot more details:
I'd need as good as possible acoustically transparent screen that will also be suitable for the Ruby's lumens. Anyone using Screen Research or Vutec? Is the light output realistically too low for these or microperf screens? What's screens are working well and not too well for you folks?
My room dim are about 12.5'(W)X22'(L). I use Magnepan 3.6's for fronts across the short wall dim of 12.5' and about 4-4.5' from the front wall. A Maggie CC3 center is on top of a 53" HD-CRT-RPTV, so there's limited room width to deal with. A motorized screen could be positioned so that the center speaker is behind the screen, and an 80" diag screen would be allowed to overlap the inner part of the Maggie panels, but not block the ribbon tweeters. I could go with a smaller diagonal screen. Sitting position is 12' from the RPTV and 10' from the Maggies. I'm trying to keep the current RPTV there for normal viewing, but could consider the new Sony 60" SXRD RPTV if FP not a good choice. Only get 1 room to play in per the WAF.
Comments on suitability of the Ruby to the room, and options for screens and placement are most welcome.
