I have an ATI HD3850 in my HTPC attached to my Toshiba 42 LCD via HDMI. I have the resolution set to 1920 x 1080 which over scans when the Toshiba is in its default setting of wide, if I select exact scan in the Toshiba's menu this rectifies the problem. I also have an Nvidia 8800GT (can't make up my mind which I prefer) and the same applies with that so I assume this is the norm.
My question is; is this the correct way to make it fit, or should it be done by resizing the desktop to fit using the ATI/Nvidia control panel, I'm just curious as to which is the most accurate method to make it fit the screen?
Many thanks in advance.
