Hi Peter,

Great find! Could you please offer your experiences on transmission of video signals-Svideo and RGB, via various CAt5/CAt5e, Shielded and Unshielded, with regard to signal source/quality and line length, please? I am incorporating a VT4000 TP in my Crestron system and have been VERY pleased with my RG6 Composite approx. 125' run, but am tempted to try other higher quality video sources, like say the DTC 100's signal that I currently send to my DILA.

Thank you very much

Leiutenant major:

About long runs with cat 5 I know that CRESTRON has driver /receivers to send 125MHZ a half mile without degradation.

I realLy am new to this CAT 5 cable thing though. i would venture that you can probably go 120 feet on it on rgb. But to really know the lenght limitation look for a thread by Mr. Wiggles right here on sending RGB HD thru plenum rated CAT 5 wire...

Best regards

As I recall, its shielded Cat5 (aka Cat7, I believe), and this is an important point.

Seems others have posted good results with runs in excess of what you'd like to use.
