Is there a Channel 29-1 (KBTC PBS Tacoma analog 28)?


I see a digital version on Direct TV and wonder if they are broadcasting and if it is Seattle?

No. KBTC - Tacoma PBS is not yet broadcasting a digital HD (or otherwise) signal. They are still building out their studio and transmitter.


What you see on Direct TV or Dish Network is the analog signal converted into digital for broadcast and reception by their standard def satellite receiver boxes. It is not 'digital tv.'

Eww! Say no to multicasting and data transmission!! We already have two channels with lowered-quality pictures thanks to multicasting (KCTS, KTWB), we don't need or want any more.
