Hi,

I'm trying to secure my RC-3ii to a shelf above my 50" plasma. I live south of LA so I need to be concerned about earthquakes. Any ideas on how to fasten this 29lb center channel to a shelf? I am planing on securing the shelf to studs or anchored screws. I have not hung the shelf yet, i have the 90 deg brackets but no actual shelf yet. any way to fasten the speaker to just the bracket?

Along the same lines, I am going to mount my 12lb RS-3ii's to the wall using either a screw into a stud or an anchored screw in drywall. If the bolt head fits in the slot, do i need to worrry about moderate quakes?

I realize when/if the big one comes about nothing is going to work, but i'm looking for something that will work until the apokalypse

thanks

got to work last night with the studfinder. found what i thought were studs but the device was acting really weird. after measuring and thinking for a bit, i was like, lets do it! and then something dawned on me, turns out there is an electrical box on the other side of the wall EXACTLY where i need to drill for my shelf brackets. maybe the giant box filled with electrical equipement is what was making my stud finder go crazy.

Friendly reminder: check before you drill!
