Just put in a new 433cmx w 5002 card. On the interpol warning at the start of dvds i'm seeing what can best be described as a drop shadow of the text near the bottom of the screen, not in the middle of screen but towards the bottom. The "letterbox bar" on the bottom of a letterboxed image also seems slightly blurry, . Now for the curious part, I put in a NEC 42" recently with the same problem. Anyone know what this is???

Also wondering if anyone has seen...and could review the sony PFM-42B2 42" plasma?

Hi! Does it happen on some DVD's but not others? Mpeg/jpeg compression can do wacky ringing/outlining things to text areas (especially noticable on high contrast text/background combinations like on warnings). You could try playing around with the vertical position to move that area up and down to see it the drop shadow type artifact 'travels' with it (which could indicate it's coming from the DVD itself). If you move the text and the 'old' text clears up in a different position, but 'new' text shows ringing in that same position on your screen, it might be the display (or maybe the player).
