I bought a Vizio 65" M650VSE a few months ago. I'm very pleased with it, as blu rays look wonderful on it. DirecTv, however, looks completely terrible on it. I watch a lot of sports and pro wrestling, and the image comes in blocky, choppy, and pixelated. It's literally like watching a bad youtube video. When I had a DirecTv serviceman come out and take a look, he assured me that nothing could be done to improve the image quality and that the larger the TV you buy, the worse picture quality you're going to get. I understand that larger televisions have processors that have to process more image and more information, therefore the image won't always be as sharp, but sometimes the image is downright embarrassingly terrible, especially when watching fast motion programming like sports. I was just wondering if anyone might have any advice.

Are you watching standard definition or high definition programming? What you are describing sounds like standard def (analog) on a digital channel. Have you tried connecting a set of rabbit ears to scan for local channels in HD? If blu-ray looks good, then you might need to upgrade your directv box to HD

You might try switching the HDMI cable with the BluRay HDMI cable (if that doesnt change anything, try switching to a different input on the TV. if that fixes it than you might have a bad hdmi input.
