Seeking Help for

I have a Technics SU-G91 receiver/amp that I am trying to hook up to two floor speakers (the speakers that came with the system). I'm using 16awg speaker wire and they are hooked up correctly to the receiver, but I am not getting any sound/noise out of them. I have the Tuner hooked up to the receiver to try to get the radio to work, but nothing. The speakers are hooked up to Front 'A' on the back of the receiver.

All the equipment powers on and appears to be working. I know all the stuff worked before it was put in storage a year and a half ago.

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Thanks for your input GregLee. The speakers are working! Now I am trying to use the speakers with TV and Xbox 360.

I've got the component cables hooked up to the back of the TV (plasma) and the three video cables into the set top box. Then I plugged the two audio cables into my receiver on VCR1/DAT source. However, I get no sound. What am I doing wrong?
I don't know. Maybe someone could be more helpful if you say more explicitly what type cable you have connected to what connector of what piece of equipment. When cables and connectors sit around for a long time, they can corrode, so try twisting any RCA connectors back and forth to make better contact.
I have tried twisting them, and the ports on the receiver appear to be in good shape. The component cables are brand new, which are connected to a 2 month old 42" Panasonic plasma (TH-42PZ77U) and a ~15 year old Technics SU-G91 receiver. I've got the five component cables plugged into their correct ports on the backside of the TV. Then I have the three video component cables plugged into the only 3 component video (Pb, Py, R) ports on my Motorola HD Set Top Box (Charter cable service). Then I have the two audio cables from the components plugged into the VCR1/DAT ports on the back of the receiver. Yes, I selected the correct source on the receiver.
I don't see how I can help. I looked around and found some questions about that Technics model, but no functional information about inputs and outputs. Sorry. (My very first stereo amp was a Technics.)

If I interpret this correctly, you need to move the audio connections from the TV to the STB.

In other words, STB L/R audio > receiver input, not TV L/R audio > receiver input.
whoaru99, thank you thank you thank you! That's exactly what it was! Can I buy you a beer?
