So...my boss comes to my house to pick me up for a business trip, & I know he likes 'toys'; so I show him the projector, (1272, 82 inch width screen). He says it's very good, wow, just like the theatre, etc...then off we go on the trip.


He now says he's spoken to the wife and wants to buy one of these projectors and get a movie room sorted out.


He is asking me for advice. What would you tell him?


Personally, from what I know now, I would buy an 8" CRT with the better focus, (EM, ES - I can never remember which is which).

Pick a budget and then spend, spend, spend! If he's got the budget for it, an 8" electromagnetic focus will give a great image. If he doesn't, then he may want to look for a 7" EM focus unit (NEC PG). Does he have the aptience to tinker and do-it-himself, or does he want to hire someone to come in and put it all together for him? There are many issues here, and more information along the lines of the questions above would be helpful.


Fortunately for you guys, you live near Curt Palme (and others?) who are CRT professionals, so they have inventory and knowledge to get him up and running quickly.
