All,
Just thought I would post this here. Seems as good as any.
I recently add the Sat C lnb to my DirecTV eliptical dish setup.
We also had some really wicked windstorms in the midwest recently.
So, my dish was just a little out of alignment, but, SHOH did not come in like it did the night I added the Sat C lnb.
After mucking around, I found out that one of my "F" connectors was weak and starting to go bad. (I actually broke it off when tightening all the other connections...ooops!)
Anyhow, after replacing a couple lengths of RG-59 (came with the dish) with RG-6U (quad shielded) my signal strenth went up!!!
I only noticed this AFTER I was trying to optimise the signal for Showtime HD.
I am going to get a bit more length of RG-6U (ran out!) and redo it all down to the grounding junction in RG-6U and be done with it.
Regards,
-Warlock
