I am upgrading from an old SONY SAT-A50 (?) Directv receiver to a Zenith HD-SAT250 which is identical to the SONY SAT-HD200. My TIVO has a serial connection to the old SONY satellite receiver that changes the channel automatically. These new HD receivers have a serial port in the back labeled "authorized service only". Can I connect the TIVO cable into my new Zenith sat receiver? Is TIVO considered an authorized service? Will it fry the innards when I attempt to change a channel? Will I have to go back to those old infrared controllers that hang out over the equipment like loose wires? And by the way, just trying to reset your TIVO from serial to infrared controllers takes an hour via the the TIVO SETUP guide.

Thank you
