Anybody know the procedure for accessing the service menu on the Toshiba 34HFX84. Thought it was probably the same as the 30-inch but that doesn't seem to work. Thanks

I'm not trying to hi-jack your thread, but I have a very similar question.

I have the Toshiba 30HFX84 and although the picture in HD looks

fantastic, the geometry is significantly off. I notice this most often

with a 4:3 program in a HD input. The sides are noticeably not straight.

I had a repair tech over here and he went into the service menu

but said it couldn't be fixed. I'm not sure if he's correct or not.

Anyone here correct their geometry via the service menu or other

settings?

Thanks,

Jim

I don't know the service menu for the toshiba.

But about the geometry, hmmm...i think it can be fix, but don't expect 100% perfect geometry, because's that's not possible, unless its a display like fixed pixel displays (plasma, lcd, lcos, dlp)...

So, again, geometry can be fix up nice on CRT that it's acceptable for many users like me if there's a slight off gemeotry pattern like.

But it sounds like repair tech doesn't want to spend time adjusting it which can be time consuming i guess if you want to make the best out of it and he probably isn't well train in that area to adjust the geometry. So, he just not take the risk which I think he did the right decision if he doesn't know what he's doing. But i dislike that he wasn't honest when he say it can't be fix....

Did you find the post for the 34HF84 Service menu? SurgeArrest posted it today.

I would post the link but haven't logged enough posts yet to list a web link.

How do you get into the 30HF84 service menu. I have not been able to find that information yet. Definitely need to tweak my 30HF84.

Thanks,

Larry

Can't that have something to do with how the yoke is attached? From what I gather it's flexible and just kind of clipped on, and is more of an art than a science.
