I'm a little confused about how I should set up my desktop resolution.
I've got a 42ph10uka (42") panasonic plasma which has a native resolution of 1024x768. My htpc with ati3200 is connected by hdmi to my receiver yamaha v565 which is connected to the plasma. I've set up the receiver to pass-thru the hdmi signal.
I've heard that its best to set the desktop at its native res. I've set overscan to zero. But when I set my desktop to 1024x768 there are black bars on both sides of the screen like its displaying 4:3 video. Before I had the 3200 I used vga to connect up the computer and I could get the 1024x768 to display properly. I've noticed that the display used to be labled as panasonic in CCC but now its labeled as Yamaha V565. Are there more options in the ATI control panel? Should I just leave my res at 1280x720?
