Hi all,

I'm considering getting a Toshiba 32C3005, but I've read dozens of people complaining that this TV will emit an annoying humming noise if the backlight is set to a value below 90.

So I'm wondering if I could just leave this setting higher than 90 at all times, or if this would make the picture look wrong? (Sorry, I've never owned an LCD before, so I have no idea how these settings look.)

Hope someone will reply soon, as I'll be without a TV from monday onwards.

Cheers

You should buy a tv which is manufactured well enough that you can choose your settings without having to force things to get rid of a noise. 90 is very high for backlighting and can result in picture problems, light bleeding and wear out the screen sooner.

Look for a brand of tv which is not a problem before you get it home.
