How do you set the crossover frequencies? I set all my speakers to small (if I do auto calibration it will set it to large on all speakers). I have 5.1.

I read that set it 10hz above the lowest and I read another that all speakers should set the same.

The lowest freq
Centre: 88hz
Surround; 75hz
Front (tower, biggest woofer is 8"): probably 60-80hz

I set all to 90hz and about the same on the sub crossover.

Or should I set the centre to 100hz and others to 90hz?

Since your AVR has bass management, set the crossover knob on the sub to bypass or the highest it will go. You can use the AVR menu to adjust settings.

In your case, I'd set the mains to 80hz and set the rest to 100hz. You definitely want to set all speakers to small. If you haven't already done so, do a subwoofer crawl (youtube) before doing anything else.

If I set the sub to 160hz, wouldn't it will get all the freq? Would it be better if I set it to 80hz if I set the main to 80hz so that sub will get 80hz below and output of main is 80hz above?

Well....If you have auto calibration and can set different crossover settings in the AVR, means you have bass management. Turn the knob on the sub all the way up as this will let you control the sub through the AVR.

The crossover is set for both speakers and sub. There is no "separate" setting for the sub.

I don't think you're understanding. By setting your crossovers to 90hz in the AVR, you're defeating the need to do that on the sub because your AVR is handling it. If you had an integrated amp with no crossover settings in the AVR/AMP, then you would use the controls on the sub. Since you're doing it in the AVR, you need to disable/bypass on the sub. You can use one or the other, not both.

Many AVR's including mine set speakers to large after calibration. Manually setting the speakers to small manually is fairly common.

I think I understand it now, if I set the main (front L and R) to 80hz, it will send below 80hz to the sub hence there is no specific setting of sub for the freq in the avr and that's why I need to set the crossover knob to the highest because it will receive below 80hz anyway based on the avr crossover setting

That's pretty much it.

If you have the option to set individual crossover settings, try the mains at 80hz and the rest at 100hz. Nothing wrong with experimenting.

It has, i will set front L & R to 80hz and 100hz for the centre and surround.
