Hi,

I've been learning more and more about setting up my computer for proper HTPC use but still classify myself a newbie.

My problem is, I own various Madman authored animation DVDs (Interlaced, PAL, Region 4). They look perfect when played on my Toshiba SD-2500 but when played on my computer (via my CRT monitor or TV) they suffer ghosting.

I've posted on the Zoom Player forums and have been informed that I can use a deinterlacing filter such as FFDShow to deinterlace in real-time.

What I'd like to know is how to do that properly? After a quick search on this forum I realised that to do it properly it may be more complex then I originally anticipated.

My system is running the following,

Windows XP + Service Pack 1

Zoom Player Pro 3.1

PowerDVD XP 4 Filters

ffdshow-20021213

The codecs I've required so far.

(Any of these can be changed (besides ZP) if it will mean better quality)

So, all I want is for my DVDs to look as good on TV using my computer's tv-out (radeon 9200) as my DVD player.

Thanks a lot.

Make sure force Bob is selected. try using the VMR9 overlay. Other than that i don't know too much about it. Maybe use the Cyberlink Eagle Vision (CLEV). A lot of this is determined by your monitor qulaity tho. I have a dark 19" CRT and i always have ot turn up gamma to watch DVDs which causes me to lose contrast & chroma/luma which causes me to lose depth.
