I am about to begin setting up my HT. I know this is the sub forum and this Question includes those but my surround speakers as well. I know alot of the set up depends on placment and where you think it sounds the best. But are there any hard and fast rules I should be considering before and during the set up process? This is my first HT sound system, I have never even had A HT in a box system. My system includes:

Receiver: Yamaha RX-V1400

Paradigm Cinema 90's (4)

Paradigm 110Cb Center Channel

2 Bic H-100's

The Room: 12x15 with a sloping ceiling; 8, on the low end 12, on the high end.

I have no spl meters or any special equip, just my ears and your good advice!

(If this is not the correct forum, please move thread where it will best fit, thanks!)

No flame, but there are numerous threads, as well as a sticky, on this subject. Look at it this way; using it will allow you to balance your system better than your ears will. Most humans would have a hard time with that. Remember that 10 dB = double the perceived loudness by a human. Now eaquate that to the meter and its resolution.

true. I did search and have spent a lot of time trying to figure things out. But when there are "numerous threads and a sticky" I just wasnt sure what info was revelent to my situation and what wasnt, so after much searching and reading I decided to post.
