TV = Mitsubishi WS-55908 (2 weeks old).

HDTV Set-Top Box = Mitsubishi (2 days old, without DirecTV).

Connection = component from STB to TV's "DTV component input.

Can get a strong OTA signal reading on 3-4 Boston local digital stations (20-1, 23-1, 30-1, 31-2, 42-1), but can only view them in 480i. When upconverting non-HDTV signals to 1080i, the v-sinc is out of whack. Any reasons why this wont work? How can the vertical sinc be adjusted with this comination? Is this just a few simple adjustments, or is something not working? Thanks for any advice.

(P.S. - this is NOT my system, and I have not witnesed it ... I am asking on behalf of someone else, and since I didnt have this problem in my very different setup, I didnt know how to respond.)

I think some one posted a long time ago: Unplug the TV for a couple of minutes plug it back in and set the input for Component not RGBHV.
