I'm plagued with a/v sync issues and looking to correct them. I'm havin a hard time getting the audio delay right by manually setting I when watching music DVDs where you can see the drummer hit the snare.

Are there discs that aid with setting AV sync? How does everyone set this?

You may be looking for something more precise or scientific than what I did, but I just turned the volume for my TV & AVR on at the same time & tweaked the audio delay settings until I got them close enough to satisfy me. I tried to do it by watching lips, instruments, etc, but I couldn't make it work. Listening to both at the same time was much easier for me than trying to do it visually. YMMV

I use this: http://www.crutchfield.com/p_119HDTV...rd.html?tp=640

It has a movie "clacker board" that you watch and sync the sound to each time it clacks. Just ignore the sleazy chick.
