I am having a problem with Gray scale horizontal lins scrolling from the bottom to the top of my screen. I am using a VGA cable connected to a DirectTV receiver. The settings of the screen are all normalized. Please help.

probably a power problem. try a diff circuit or outlet or power conditioner.

People have reported similar problems when the plasma is plugged into a different AC circuit from the source. If they aren't already, try plugging them both into the same power strip and see if it goes away.
