Can an i1d2 be used to accurately calibrate a Sharp Aquos LC-52E77UN (backlit LED)?

No ... but you can still try it and see what happens.

Is it a matter of not being as accurate as a higher end meter or is it going to be completely off?
greetings

Both accuracy and the LED lights in the TV. The probe was not designed to handle that.

You can still try it as a learning tool.

Michael I noticed you posting in some Aquos threads, maybe you can help me.

I'm trying to find out what settings in the service menu map to RGB cut & drive settings for the HDMI inputs.
Greetings

The user grayscale takes care of that ... but the master one likely the Gamma 1/2/3/4/5/6 with an RGB associated with each. Gamma R 1 ... G 1 ... B 1 ...

yep, no go. The sensor could not detect red & blue correctly. It did seemed to sense green ok.
