While this isn't a projector issue, it does show how disconnected these companies are from their customers.

I have a Sharp fax machine that's only about 1 year old which works in conjunction with my pc

I had to reinstall the software. The software won't allow you to use the fax until it registers by phone to an 800 number. Of course, I've already done this, but the software was reinstalled so it wants to do it again.

No big deal, but the 800 number that is written in the software has been disconnected! Sharp's enginners wrote the software to REQUIRE this before the fax can be used.

I called the 1 800 beSharp customer service number and after about 10 voice prompts, ended up on hold with polite reminders that "my call was important and would soon be answered."

I put the speaker phone on while I worked at my pc. I was on hold for nearly 1 hour and finally had to hang up. I simply dont' have all day to wait for someone to pick up the phone.

The fax machine is useless. I may take it back to Staples and demand a refund, even though it's a year old!

If anyone from Sharp frequents this forum, please let your customer service managers know how bad of a job they are doing.

I know the feeling all too well--and I live only minutes from Sharp's headquarters in Mahwah NJ!

This is why my Sharp LCD found a home on E-Bay and also why I have serious reservations about their new DLP unit, which will be making its debut in a few months.

TEW,

If it's a small measure of revenge for you, please know that

your post has soured me on Sharp. I'd just as soon wait for someone with a better reputation to bring out a DLP to compete with the Sharp z9000. Living overseas, I need all the service cooperation available. It Sharp's case it doesn't appear to be much.

Interestingly, the best company I've seen for service is Dell Computers of LT150 infamy. If I call the Dell service center for this region (located in Trinidad or somewhere) within a day a local technician is here to effect service.

Wish Sharp could do that.
