Is there a difference between the sharp Dt-200 and the XV-Z90U or are they the same thing one just the newer model of the other? I looked on the sharp website and didn't notice any differences.

It's the same projector, but with different lenses. The DT-200 has a short throw and the Z90 has a long throw. The DT-200 can generally be found for a few hundred dollars less. Great deals can be found on these guys now that they're being replaced, but consider the Optoma H30 as well.
