Sharp LC-37 & DVD Via DVI

I should be receiving the Sharp LC-37DG6U I ordered soon. I read in The Perfect Vision (Nov-Dec issue) a review of the LC-37DG4U (same as mine - side speakers). The author indicated that using a Bravo D2 via the Sharp's DVI input resulted in greenish blacks. This effect didn't occur if using component or HDMI.

Question to Sharp Aquos owners: How is the performance of your system with various devices via DVI? I know from previous posts that an HDTV set-top box that sports an HDMI output should use it, and standard def TV looks best via S-Video. DVD by way of component according to most looks good, but I really haven't read much about owners using the DVI input.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

I've only used my PC on my DVI port on my Sharp LC-37G4U but I've used a Sony Playstation 2 on both the component ports and also S-Video. S-Video in my opinion looked exceptionately poor, but component looked worlds better. That said I always try to tweak my brightness, color and contrast ratios a little bit each time I play a game, use my computer or watch DVDs.

DVI can be very good for DVDs, however I've read that some liked component video the best because the Digital->Analog->Digital conversion will slightly soften the image and clean up any hard pixels.

Yeah, I did the same thing with my little 22" Samsung high-def LCD. My Bravo D2 looked a little grainy, so I decided component was the most pleasing to my eye.

I have a Sharp LC-37G4U and find that connecting a Motorola 6412 to the Sharp using DVI is much worse than component. The former makes the picture too soft, with a greenish cast. The component connection seems fine.

I have no other components with DVI, so I'm not able to test to see if the problem lies with the 37G4U or the 6412, or some kind of incompatibility between them.
I own the 37G4U and have VOOM connected via DVI. It works fine. No greenish cast. I suspect, however, that compatibility can be a problem, though not just with the Sharp. Someone mentioned, for example, that he was having a problem getting the Sharp HDMI to work with a D* HDMI box. At the moment I don't have any stb with an HDMI output. Has anyone come across this?
Malachy-

I called Sharp and they said that they have had some problems with the HDMI connection when used with the DirecTV Tivo. There are of course known issues with HDMI on the Tivo box. Sounds like Sharp is in the clear on this one.

I've connected my Moto with both HDMI (via a DVI cable) and component and found no real differences other than there is more overscan with HDMI. I guess that could make the picture look soft but it wasn't noticeable.
