I went to check out a Sharp LC-60LE847U at a major big box store and saw an artifact where little black horizontal lines ran over a sharp vertical boundary into a colored area where they did not belong. These lines appear to be one pixel tall and a few mm long. The lines seemed to jump around.  These are not related to anything in the source image.

The lines were seen demoing an animated film cloudy with a chance of meatballs. Given the content is 100% digitally generated images, I doubt that is the source of the artifact.

I generated a simulation of this artifact which is attached.

Is this something specific to the Sharp TV?

Is this something that can be corrected by changing a setting?
